Kimmeth Keyz

Artist Bio
Some people become artists because they seek fortune and fame. They believe that somehow, performing, writing and producing will bring them the accolades and acclaim they feel they’ve been missing. And then there are the people who have no choice in the matter - artistry has chosen them. They are compelled to write, perform and record the way the rest of us are compelled to breathe. Whether they sell five million records or just five, some folks will always create. Kimmeth “KEYZ” is one of these rare individuals.

Kimmeth “KEYZ” was born on May 16, in Atlanta Georgia. His father's family has roots in New York City and his mother's in Albany Georgia. He grew up surrounded by music. His father, along with his two brothers and six sisters were a very popular local gospel group in the city of Atlanta that performed at many churches and other gospel venues as guest appearances. His grandmother was a piano teacher and performer. His uncle was the lead singer and a keyboardist in a local band that gained much recognition around the city for their Jazz and Blues performances. Kimmeth Keyz’s eldest uncle owned Solar Sound Recordings Inc., a recording studio near the down town Atlanta area where “KEYZ” spent many afternoons and evenings watching, observing, and learning from some of Atlanta’s best musicians. His Father jokes that Kimmeth is the only family member to go into music without training. ..He took no lessons, learned how to emulate drum patterns, peck at the piano and never quit ever since. '' John (father) says, Kimmeth, himself, was only nine years old when he learned to play the drums and started writing his own original songs at the age of 16. He was also proficient on the keyboards as well as the drums.

Kimmeth attended Canby Lane Middle School in Decatur GA, as well as Towers High School in Decatur where he graduated with Honors. By his teenage years Kimmeth had recorded dozens of demo tracks. While still in high school, Kimmeth “KEYZ” had been urged by the school’s band instructor to pursue a recording career.

He continued his mission with forming a four member group/band after high school with three of his elementary and high school buddies from the neighborhood that became known as “On Another Level.” After performing and winning several talent shows and contests, the group was discovered by an overseas talent booking CEO that booked the group for a year and a half tour in Asia that included Hong Kong, Japan, Taiwan, and the Philippines. It was during this tour where Kimmeth Keyz began to write and produce for many overseas Artists craving the popular American R&B sound.

It would only be three years later when Kimmeth Keyz was offered a Publishing & Production Deal with BMG “Germany” through the production company “Boss Ballers” that landed him work with the Backstreet Boys, N’sync, 95 South, Rod “D” (German superstar rapper), Razz Smith (Germany), and many other overseas bands and solo artists. You will hear the song “Cool Aide” produced by Kimmeth “Keyz” and performed by the rap group 95 South in the movie “National Security” (Martin Lawrence) as background music during certain scenes.

In his own words, Kimmeth “Keyz” has stated that: Music is spirit; therefore I am "MUSIC". Born and raised in a family of musicians and vocalists in Atlanta GA, It was pre-destined that I was created to bring Creative Energy to the universe through music by the Creator Himself. Moved by rhythm, my first interest and love was for the drums; realizing that all music consists of and derives around a beat . Moved and influenced by various church drummers, I began my career at my local church as a drummer at the early age of ten. Through the years studying the many colors, flavors, and styles of music, my interest turned to the piano/keyboard. Gifted with the ability to play by ear, I found that I could be more expressive with this instrument without having to learn others. With the advancement of technology and sampled instrument sounds, I am the bass player, the guitarist, the orchestra, the drummer etc... My skills have taken me all around the world such as Europe, Asia, and the Caribbean islands with the opportunity to play with many bands and create music for various overseas recording Artists. Regardless of the many changes in the Music Industry, music is and will always be universal, therefore without limit to one color, flavor, location, or style. That is why you will never find me in one realm; If music is Spirit, then I AM EVERYWHERE!
