Beverly Walker – Biography
The story of Beverly Walker begins with singing gospel music. She was
sure to learn more in voice, which led to studying the styles of opera
at Wayne State University to increased vocal strength, styles and
knowledge of how to use vocal control professionally. Learning voice has
“Paid-Off.” Routinely, Beverly has worked with the younger generation
teaching vocal skills, styles and extraordinary techniques. She is a
member of (ASCAP) The America Society of Composers, Authors and
Publishers. As a group and solo artist, she has performed on many stages
in San Francisco, Oakland, Berkley, San Jose, Detroit and Chicago.
Beverly is currently a student at Kaplan University anticipated Bachelor
Degree in Legal Studies by December 2009. She attended University of
Detroit Mercy and majored in Pre-Law. She is a certified IRS tax agent
where she has worked for the HR Block Association and her own
independent business. She worked as a corporate legal assistant for DTE
Energy Law Department, Robert Half Legal and as a Corporate Legal
Assistant with Ryerson Incorporate in Chicago, Illinois. As a huge
enthusiast of Jazz and Gospel music entertainment, she has released a
jazz CD called “Steppin In the Moon Light” which includes songs such as
title cut “Steppin In The Moon Light, Diamonds and Pearls, Baby- You’re
Not Here, Your Time is Running Out.” In the past, BIGtown Records
executive Eddie C. Harris, released a duet album called Casewell with
songs “Night to remember, You want me, Showers of Love” which were
recorded in Berkley, California (1995). On February 22, 2005, Beverly
Walker was diagnosis with breast cancer. She was on track with
Chemotherapy and ended a successful treatment by September 1, 2006. Now,
she is cancer free and a public speaker to support other cancer
survivor. She has decided to write a publication to inspire others to
overcome their battle against cancer soon to be release book entitle
"Tomorrow, When I Awake." The “Steppin In The Moonlight” CD gave her a
chance to travel to Chicago and work with other artists as a writer. “I
had a lot of fun working on my “own project,” stated Beverly, “I am sure
you will enjoy listening to the entire CD. My producer and manager
Clarence L. Walker, Jr., who is also blessed to be my brother (LOL), has
inspired me the most to present stepper’s music. Of course, this CD
includes songs of jazz inspirations to keep your mind relax and free
from the world’s calamity.” A prior residence of Chicago, Beverly Walker
moved back to Detroit where her family resides. She will always “Keep
