With
her debut album in 2006 Chicago native, Trizonna McClendon's
Album "Overtones & Innuendos" (4 The Soul-Reciprocity Independent
Label) offers a broad variety of music which will appeal to quite a few
listeners.
"Flowers Bloom In Spring" is one cut the Steppers can Jam to as
well as her song, "Remedy". The sample we got at SteppersUSA is "Sunshine
& Lemonade". It's beat on the CD is a little off for steppers music,
but after hearing the song with a live band on her MySpace page, I feel
the song can be a quality Steppers cut. I'm sure some of the Steppers
DJ's will agree and remix to match the steppers tempo in their clubs.
I've read the comparisons to other artists like Jill Scott and
Minnie Ripperton (which I feel happens too much in the music biz)
and you can hear it in some of the songs on the album, but I feel
Trizonna's talent stands on her own sweet voices merit.
In her bio, she was influenced by Stevie Wonder, Prince, Marvin Gaye,
Diana Ross, and The Supremes.
It's nice to hear a refreshing non-traditional CD from a lady who was
"Born to Sing". This young lady is set to bring it! |
