Sometimes
when there's a lot going on I just don't know where to start. If
you've visited SteppersUSA.Com or Facebook in the last day you'll
notice I've responded to all of the messages I got asking about
National Chicago Style Steppers Day (NCSSD) T-Shirts.
I'm not in a position to buy a bunch of shirts and pay a shop to
warehouse and print my designs (I have a whole bunch (of designs)
in my mind) so I did the best thing possible with all things
considered. I used the
Facebook Shirt Shop application. All I had to do was to create
the design and upload it to the application and they take care of
the rest. They have the shirts (in different colors for $2 extra),
the equipment to print on the shirts and the whole thing cost's me
the time to make the design and upload the file. They even ship for
free. So if you want a National Chicago Style Steppers Day
T-Shirt (they're about as "official" as they can be right now
since I'm the guy who came up with the idea in the first place)
visit the
Facebook Shirt Shop application and order one or ten. If you're
not on Facebook, I guess you can give someone who is the $15 to
order one for you.
Tuesday night at Mr. G's at the
World's Largest
Steppers Competition (WLSC) New Skool Original semi-finals a
camera man from Fox32 News came and shot some video of people
stepping as DJ Raphael cranked the music up.

Last night the
segment aired and the DVR on my computer grabbed it and I'm sharing it
on SteppersUSA (below with the You Tube Videos) as well as on
Facebook (video quality is pretty good considering I'm using rabbit
ear antenna and a $15 USB TV card). If you're on Facebook, be sure
to tag the people who are in the video who may have missed the
nine o'clock news on Fox.
After talking with Pete Frazier, I found the Fox camera man will be at
the rest of the semi-finals in Chicago collecting footage. I also
discussed with Pete shooting the rest of the semi-finals from the
floor instead of from my perch next to the DJ so I can get those
shots you can't get from a static
camera location. Every time I see those camera men with those (very
expensive) high definition camera's I get a bad case of camera envy.
Those things cost more than some people make in ten years though... but
I can dream!
Another WLSC note, If you go to
WLSContest.Com
when you hit the home page, you'll hear the new radio commercial
that's scheduled to air soon.
Monique Salter from the
Step and
Think Pink Breast Cancer Awareness Foundation has posted the price
sheet for the ads for the book they will be doing for the ten hour
dance-a-thon for breast cancer awareness on October 30th at the Dolton
Expo. It's a worthy cause and it's worth throwing a few dollars toward
an ad in the book for the event. Last years event was well attended and
I expect this year's to be also. If you haven't signed up a team to
dance in the dance-a-thon, what are you waiting for? Head over to the
website and sign up... here's the link
www.dance.stepandthinkpink.org. Instructors it's time to represent
with your class!
Back to the NCSSD for a moment, I was informed through a message on
Facebook that the Rhythm Ryders
are hosting an event to celebrate our dance on August 14th
in Warren, OH... they haven't contacted me back with location details,
but once they do I'll post it for you in the perpetual steppers events
calendar..
What are you doing on August 14th?
Please let me know!
