The CSC shouldn't be confused with the
Majestic Gents convention in Florida this Memorial Day weekend which is
a separate event.
Strictly Steppers and several other steppers
organizations are also planning a "Second Steppers Convention" this year
also. Talking to the Red Cross
I'll be talking with the Red Cross today to try to get everything
together for the
$100,000
Steppers Challenge. Once the details are hammered out, I'll pass the
information to you so we can represent to the world "who we really are".
There are many pieces to put together and hopefully someone is doing
something in your city to meet this challenge to donate $100 from
steppers organizations in your city to the International Red Cross for
Haitian earthquake relief. Boston steppers on the radio tomorrow morning
I got this message from the Boston steppers yesterday; "The “Chicago
Style” Steppers of Boston will be guests on Touch 106.1fm Morning Show
Tuesday January 26th between 8am-9am (Eastern Time) Tune in &
Call in (click the LISTEN NOW button)
www.touchfm.org
(live stream internet radio) 617-445-1061(On the Air Hotline)"
As is evidenced from the video I posted from Hampton Roads, and the
discussions I've had with other steppers from the East coast including
New York City, steppers are putting the dance out there in a big way.
It's time to support Boston by calling in and flooding the phone lines
so people know we're not playing around!
Remember what the mystic Momma Czenee said on the first… "Change from
outside… Status Quo no more… there will be no more fear" in her
predictions for 2010. Steppers and their organizations are definitely
doing their thing in a big way across the country.
Something funny crossed my mind as I watched New Orleans (Saints) clinch
a birth in the Super Bowl to battle the team from Indianapolis (Colts)
for the ring. These are two of the smallest markets in the NFL and guess
what? There are Chicago style steppers in both those cities! Just a few
years ago you just couldn't say that. That's more evidence to how much
the dance has grown nationally! The Conference call for the ISA
For whatever reason, I couldn't get through to the conference call last
night. The system kept reporting the access code was invalid!
If you haven't seen the official International Steppers Association
(ISA)
Frequently Asked
Questions (FAQ) document from Tim Wilson who is the point man in
this initiative. For your convenience I created a page on the site in
proper FAQ format as well as a link to the original PDF file for you to
download.
In the document there
are 18 questions and answers to questions like:
What is the International Steppers Association?
Why are we aligned with the World Dance Council or World Swing Dance
Council?
Who are the members of the ISA? Why (and how) should I join? What
does the initial membership pay for? As well as the one I personally
consider to be the most important... Why organize stepping now?
They touch on important issues like insurance and standardized
terminology as well as children's programs.
