We are making progress in the $100,000 Steppers Challenge as a matter of fact; one female stepper asked why I set the goal at $100 for each of the organizations when she said "I know women who spend more than that just to get their nails done." Remember the $100 can be looked at as a starting point. We need to organize and follow the lead of the Smooth Steppers of Memphis. Please let me know what your group or organization is going to do!
Over the weekend I didn't go to any parties (too much to do here and meetings and so-on). I'm in the process of editing another video (part of the "so-on" I did over the weekend).
Finally! My new camera body is on its way and if all is good will arrive tomorrow and I will be able to shoot with confidence once again (using the inferior back-up camera has been a living hell for me). The new camera is a bit of a step-up from the camera I've used for the last few years as it is supposed to be a little faster and has a few more megapixels crammed into the processor. I'll use it until I can get enough money for the camera I really want but that represents a big financial investment (they say good things come to those who wait).

the Chicago style steppers Facebook group. I was originally going to send it right after we achieved the 3000 member milestone but considering the earthquake as well as the King holiday weekend I decided to wait (as I mentioned in the letter which I included below).

Our group has passed a new milestone and I didn't want to let the event slip by with all of the current events over the holiday weekend so I waited to send this. We now have over 3000 members! We are the largest steppers group on Facebook and perhaps it's time we might want to consider engaging in some on and offline activities at this point.
I would also like to see the group broaden its scope.
I don't want to do a typical Facebook group meet and greet thing, but I'd like to do it with a twist or two but I can't (and don't want to) do it by myself.

Here are a couple of ideas I'd like to float to the group:
1. Ask for volunteers from the group to assist the administration and coordination of the group and become local contacts in their respective geographic locations (Set-up an organization so we can do more for the community).
2. Ask for volunteers from the group to set up simultaneous parties across the country. (Perhaps someone with a laptop and a web cam can post some of the party to facebook live).
3. Almost every member of this group is in or has a steppers group on Facebook. Maybe we could ask each group to join with us in a joint effort to create some mega Facebook parties across the country thus creating a national Chicago style steppers day.

I realize these ideas will take lots of planning, cooperation, and coordination but we have enough members to start having an impact on the national steppers scene. Remember our power lies in our numbers so if you have friends or know people who aren't members of the group please invite them to join.
