Steppers Beat Column is sponsored by:
Friday Night Steppin' brought to you by the Club Dyamonds Diva's and DP
at Club Dyamonds at 19755 S. Torrence Ave. Lynwood, IL.
Having the time to think of new things for the column is a real
chore at times. There's so much on the table at any given moment I have
to step back and just clear my mind. I always have my client's needs to
tend to before anything else and that's what happened yesterday. I said
I was going to relax and take the holiday for myself and it was a good
plan. My clients had other ideas.
They found me via phone, text, email, and I'm sure if they needed to
they would have sent up flares. I'll try and get that moment or two to
myself today, but I have my doubts!
For those of you who remember my columns about the "Stepper of the year"
from the days before the contest here's a tidbit…
One of the emails I got in response was from a lady in Seattle who said
the good people in the Emerald City (In the land of Gates, NOT OZ) were
well into the planning stages of their own
Peoples Choice Awards" which
is scheduled to happen on September 18, 2010.
Here's a thought… how about someone on the East coast doing the same
thing at the same time? And while both coasts are at it, the Midwest
could do one too!
Don't jump all over me with some "We should just do
one for the whole country" spiel either! I am also well aware
Terrance Pratt has been doing an online version of this for a couple
of years now.
I'm from Illinois, and the state is what is called a "home rule"
state which means each city can have its own jurisdictions. I feel
each region of the country should be able to choose from their own
without any type of influences than their own local influences.
As the saying goes, all news (and politics) is local.
Even though many don't like the fact... People add their own flavor
from their own region so it would be ultimately fair to be judged by
their peers instead of a national audience.
We could leave that for the contests and for perhaps… a "National
Stepper Of The Year Award" which may have a completely different set
of rules which may have more to do with the person and their
contributions to all of society… not just how they dance.
I know I've opened (another) can of worms!

There has been a lot of talk about iNVITE5 and Multi-Level
Marketing. In yesterday's conference call Royce Banks dispels those
myths as he explains the opportunity we all have to get ahead of the
curve with i5. I have a copy of the conference call below for you to
listen to. If you haven't signed up you need to get
some of this money just
click
here to get started.
The sign-up appears after a short series of slides right on the
first page.
After you have signed up:
Go to “Downloads” on the main navigation menu, and download your
customized toolbar. Now, if you have Internet Explorer, you might
not see any Ads yet. However, if you have Mozilla Firefox, you
should be able to start rating 3rd party Ads immediately, which will
pay you 3/10 cents immediately. Yes, it’s a small amount (and right
now it's training), but you get that amount for all of your friends
up to 7 levels. Once the 10 cent Ads hit next week sometime (I'll be
sure to update as we're working with the developers), your
organization will already be off and running!

Steppers History

know has any photos, footage or information about or from any

History
of Stepping Project, I'd love to add it to what we have.
It's Your History! OR If you have a personal recollection
concerning stepping or if you care to help with the in any
manner, please
Send us an email.
Please copy the message below and send
it on to as many steppers as you can please!
This is an open message to ALL
steppers. Please share it with as many people as possible.
As many of you may already know I
started a new web site for the benefit of the greater steppers
community. It's called
History
of Stepping Project. I wish to encourage you to add your
knowledge to the timeline. If you know anything about stepping,
please share this with the public on this site. We are looking
for all information related to stepping from it's beginnings to
the present. The information literally includes everything from
clubs and bars which held steppers sets and parties to contests
and the participants and results, to when different steppers
organizations and classes started, who the instructors were and
are; Musical bands, and artists, DJ's, radio and television
personalities, Movies, videos, and photos… literally everything
stepping. Creating an accurate historic timeline will go a
long way toward helping the community take the next step in its
logical progression as it continues to grow nationwide and will
become a valuable resource for all in the future. Your input,
your knowledge and your effort have made the dance what it is
today. Don't you feel your place (and your organization's) in
the timeline is well deserved? I do! Please send an email to
your members or readers inviting them to participate. Place a
link on your web site also please. All support is appreciated!
The effort requires more than just
posting the information. The need for fact checkers, people
willing to do some research exists in this important ongoing
project. Just a few minutes a week can make a difference.
