Steppin' Forward The Documentary

[6:30PM CST] I've only sent out one EXTRA edition of this newsletter before, so you know this has to be good! Anyone who reads the newsletter regularly has seen my appeals for Steppers History of any type for the History of Stepping Project. Well, the information you submitted is under review by the producers of an upcoming documentary that has been picked up by Hollywood and will be offered on wide release on the big screen. You will be given full credit for your contributions that make into the movie. The movie project is fully funded (opposed to a few ventures I have heard about in the past that never quite got completed).
Teno Headd the executive producer and director told me about the use of the timeline from the History of Stepping Project in the film, "For the integrity and benefit of the project we will only use photo's and past film footage that is submitted to us by or about prominent stepper's in the stepping community. We just want to make sure the essence of Chicago steppin is correctly given."
I spoke to Herb Kent this afternoon about the project after some more communication with Teno Headd who wants to get Herb on camera for the film, Herb said he was "excited at the prospect." Upon hearing Herb's response, Teno said, "The Key thing about this project is that we have all of the bricks to the foundation of Chicago Steppin represented living or not...it needs to be captured from a cinematographic perspective one way or another. Any info, stills, and our film footage you can provide or assist me in collecting will be greatly appreciated and credited".
If you look at the film info on The movie project web site, You will see some familiar names as producers, like Damone Hodges, and Malik Smith.
