Steppers, it's time for some "dish and some news. I haven't spread any rumors around for quite a while, so today is as good as any. Oh, don't worry all the rumors I'll attempt to spread are based on some iota of fact, so it's up to you to ferret out the fact portions. Now, on with the DISH...
Rumor has it... R. Kelly is getting together with a television network and putting a major steppers event in Chicago in June 2009. No one seems to know about this one, but it's important if it happens, remember you heard it first here!
Fact... only thirty five days remain until the first Chicago steppers convention and there's a new radio spot too!
Rumor has it... So many "out of towners" are coming to the event and ordering tickets to the convention, there may not be enough tickets left for Chicagoans.
Fact... There is a dramatic disparity in the survival rates between African Americans and Caucasians this information comes from a Chicago based study. According to the Metropolitan Chicago Breast Cancer Task Force, 19 percent of white women with breast cancer died, while 41-percent of African-American women died, meaning African American women died 116 percent more than white woman from breast cancer. The task force recommends better access to screening and improved quality of mammograms. Something can be done about this, visit www.abcap.org and www.stepandthinkpink.org and participate!
Rumor has it... Many instructors move their classes or cancel classes without telling SteppersUSA to remove the listing causing them to loose potential students and creating bad feelings. If this is true, its a shame when an email update could keep the public current. The same rumor is circulating about some steppers sets and events. It's rough to loose a set, but it's more devastating to loose a customer.
Fact... over the last 12 months according to two separate analytical statistic gathering organizations, SteppersUSA has seen an increase of traffic and readership of almost 1000% (957% to be exact) spending an average of five and a half minutes on the site. Thank You! Thank You! Thank You! Tell your friends!
